Sango Capital Co-Founder and Partner Richard Okello appeared on CNBC West Africa's "Closing Bell" to discuss three key trends Sango observed in African markets this year:

📈 Growth uncorrelated to global cycles:  Africa’s relative growth is diverging from developed markets, with the continent expanding while North America and parts of Asia remain flat. This divergence is drawing capital from investors seeking diversification away from synchronized global slowdowns.

💵 Liquidity is emerging at scale:  Africa is generating meaningful liquidity for its size through IPOs, trade sales, and other exit formats, even as global private equity markets remain constrained. That liquidity is being recycled, directly supporting renewed private equity activity on the continent.

🦾 A maturing tech value chain from VC to PE:  VC is becoming more selective, with larger checks flowing into stronger companies and extending the funding cycle beyond seed stage. PE is stepping in to scale profitable technology-enabled businesses, backed by a broader investor base that now includes African pension funds, Middle Eastern capital, family offices, and private investors alongside DFIs.
